2026 STUDENT WORK FROM MY EDITORIAL INTENSIVE CLASS IN ROME

While teaching an intensive editorial design class to undergrad students in Rome, I gave them a challenge: by the end of the second day of class, they had to choose the subject of their magazine—in Italian—and be passionate enough about it to build an entire editorial world around it. No pressure. 😉

The result? A collection of magazines filled with curiosity, personality, and point of view. Their projects have been edited here for length, but the spirit of each one shines through.

Student work in order of appearance:
• Branden Chi — Creativa (Creative)
• Emily Borja — Ciclo (Loop)
• Valdon Daniel — Moda Futura (Future Fashion)
• Yamileth Espinoza — Caffé Cultura (Coffee Culture)
• Laila Mohamad — Fusione (Fusion)
• Jessenia Fuentes — Essenza (Essence)
• Daniyah Stancil — Lustre (Luster)
• Alejandra Zevallos — Pelle (Leather)

I wish I had room to include every mission statement, but the best magazines reveal who they are through their storytelling, voice, and visual language—as they should.

Cari studenti, I’m incredibly proud of your hard work, courage, and creative ambition. ✨ Deep thanks to @keanuniversity, @mgc.rome, and @rosemgonnella for creating such a meaningful and inspiring program.
